I had the pleasure of viewing a friends documentary about powerfully creative, intelligent and talented “women without voices” from the Middle East. Notable musicians and artists who would be famed if they were men. The depth and understanding in these women make them valuable contributions, assets and mothers of this land.
This past Friday evening we viewed a snapshot her “American Première of FÉMINITUDE Global Film Project & Avant Première Screening of ELEELÉ – Tell me . Then we watched her moving film; Unheard Feminine voice of Middle-East. Soula Saad was both: Filmmaker/ producer.
Her film has been captured by others in words describing its impact; “A bouquet of Feminine expression to transform the narrative and inspire, elevate another sound bite honoring and celebrating women, and their stories, Art, Artivism, Music, songs. Initiatives & dance.”
I was so very moved by the film and in the heart of the women who I felt in my own heart, understanding the repression of our spirits is for no longer.
May we come together more now than ever in support of each other in our power. I wish that for all the women in my life. I ask forgiveness from all women, for any moment that I did not honor your nature, strength, power, beauty and grace. I strive to become a more authentic version of who I am as I learn and grow with you. Let us rise up together in the nature of our ability to nurture like mother nature herself. Thank you Soula Saad for inspiring my heart and uniting me with the force of the feminine as united in our being and doing what we love. |
